This Cookie Policy describes the small amount of browser-based storage that the BINtools.io Service uses, why it uses it, and how you can opt out.
1. What is a Cookie?
A "cookie" is a small text file that a website asks your browser to save and return on subsequent requests. "Local storage" and "session storage" are similar mechanisms exposed via the HTML5 Web Storage API. Collectively we refer to all of these as "local storage" below.
2. What We Store
BINtools.io stores at most the following items in your browser, all of which are first-party (set by the same domain you are visiting) and strictly necessary or functional:
| Key | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
bintools_lang | Remembers your chosen UI language | until cleared |
bintools_theme | Remembers your light/dark theme preference | until cleared |
3. What We Do Not Use
- No third-party advertising cookies.
- Aggregate analytics via Yandex Metrika (visit counts and referrers only — no session recording, no cross-site tracking, no advertising). No Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, Hotjar or similar.
- No social-media tracking pixels.
- No fingerprinting.
4. How to Opt Out
Because we use only strictly necessary / functional first-party storage, no consent banner is legally required in most jurisdictions. If you nevertheless wish to clear or block our storage, you can:
- Use your browser's Clear browsing data dialog and select "Cookies and other site data";
- Configure your browser to refuse all storage from
bintools.io; - Use private/incognito mode, which discards all storage when the window is closed.
If you block local storage, the Service will still work — you will simply lose your language and theme preferences between visits.
5. Updates
If we ever change the items we store, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date.
