These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of the BINtools.io website, applications, APIs, and any related services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is greater) to use the Service. By using the Service you represent and warrant that you are legally capable of entering into a binding contract with us.
2. Nature of the Service
BINtools.io provides free, browser-based tools and reference utilities for software developers, quality-assurance engineers, security researchers, students, and other technology professionals. This includes, without limitation:
- BIN (Bank Identification Number) lookup against publicly available reference data;
- IP geolocation and fraud-risk scoring against publicly available datasets;
- ZIP/postal-code radius search against publicly licensed geographic data (GeoNames, CC-BY 4.0);
- Generators of format-valid synthetic data — including fake credit card numbers, IBANs, MRZ/barcode strings, names, addresses, fullz-style records, and national tax/identity numbers for 36 countries.
Every value produced by a generator on this Service is randomly synthesized for testing purposes only. Such values are not associated with any real person, account, organization, or entity. They are not active, will not authorize any transaction, and will fail validation against any official registry, processor, or bureau.
3. Permitted Use
You may use the Service only for purposes that are lawful in your jurisdiction and consistent with these Terms. Permitted purposes include, but are not limited to:
- Software development, including unit tests, integration tests, fuzzing, and form validation;
- QA automation and the seeding of test databases with realistic-looking data;
- Educational use in teaching about identifier formats, checksum algorithms, and validation logic;
- Security research conducted in good faith and within the boundaries of applicable law (e.g., penetration testing of systems you own or have explicit written authorization to test);
- Generation of mock-up or screenshot material for documentation, marketing, or design purposes that do not impersonate real persons.
4. Prohibited Use
You agree that you will not use the Service to:
- Commit, attempt to commit, or facilitate any form of fraud, identity theft, money laundering, terrorism financing, or any other criminal offense under any applicable law;
- Submit any data, identifier, or document produced by the Service to any government agency, financial institution, payment processor, employer, landlord, or other party in a manner that misrepresents the data as genuine;
- Use any value generated by the Service to bypass age verification, sanctions screening, AML/KYC controls, or any other identity-verification mechanism;
- Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service, its underlying infrastructure, or any other user's account or session;
- Scrape, mirror, or otherwise systematically extract data from the Service except via documented public API endpoints and within published rate limits;
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the Service or any substantial portion of its content without our prior written consent.
You — and you alone — are responsible for the manner in which you use any output of the Service. We disclaim all liability for misuse.
5. No Real Data, No Real Cards, No Real Identities
For absolute clarity:
- The credit-card numbers our generators produce pass the Luhn algorithm and have valid IIN/BIN ranges, but they are not active credit cards. They cannot authorize any payment. Any merchant-side processor will decline them.
- The Tax-ID, Social-Security-style, and national-ID numbers our generators produce pass the relevant national checksum (mod-11, Verhoeff, ISO-7064, etc.), but they are not registered with any government authority. Any official lookup (e.g. SSA, Receita Federal, ФНС, NSDL, AEAT, HMRC, etc.) will return "not found."
- The personal details (names, addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth) generated by our "Fake Data" tools are random combinations drawn from generic dictionaries; any resemblance to a real person is coincidental.
6. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its source code, layout, branding, and original written content, is the property of BINtools.io and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws. Reference datasets used by the Service (BIN tables, GeoNames, etc.) remain the property of their respective owners and are used under their applicable licenses.
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your own internal purposes. No other rights are granted by implication, estoppel, or otherwise.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, AND UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION.
We make no representation that any algorithm, dataset, or output of the Service is accurate, current, or suitable for any particular purpose, including but not limited to compliance with any law, regulation, or industry standard.
8. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL BINTOOLS.IO, ITS OPERATORS, AFFILIATES, OR CONTRIBUTORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION DAMAGES FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE — EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED, IN ANY CASE, USD $50 OR THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, WHICHEVER IS LESS.
9. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless BINtools.io and its operators from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to: (i) your use of the Service; (ii) your violation of these Terms; or (iii) your violation of any third-party right, including any intellectual-property, privacy, or proprietary right.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, without notice, for any reason, including without limitation any breach of these Terms or any conduct that we believe to be abusive, fraudulent, or harmful. Upon termination, all licenses granted to you under these Terms shall immediately cease.
11. Changes to the Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. The most current version will always be posted at https://bintools.io/terms.html with the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after a revision becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the operator's jurisdiction, without regard to its conflict-of-laws provisions. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence require otherwise.
13. Severability and Entire Agreement
If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, the Disclaimer, and the Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and BINtools.io regarding the Service.
